LJ, most (not all) of the time you make some cogent points, but you must have been pretty drunk at 2:05 a.m. __________________________________ "These "climate" accords are NOTHING more than wealth redistribution accords. PERIOD. You base your opinion of them on what proven and known liars tell you in the media." Well certainly if you end a point by using "PERIOD," nobody can refute your assertion. :) To say climate agreements are nothing more about wealth distribution is patently false. At a high level, they are about preventing harmful pollution. At a secondary level, they are about efficiency. Your argument is similar to the arguments used against curbing tailpipe and smokestack emissions that choked the air until regulations were enacted in the 70's.
________________________________ "The military is NOT a job service. The military has become SO distracted from what it should be focused on that it is honestly a joke. " I don't disagree, but 80% of military jobs are in a support role to combatants. Excluding people on an arbitrary basis for these support positions when we have a volunteer military is contrary to the best interest of the U.S.
___________________________________ "There is no room for distractions like accomodating people who have psychological issues and then want the VA to pay for their mental-band-aids. Honestly even women are a bad idea in combat zones and combat units....their presence results 100% of the time in friction, conflict, and again distraction. I have seen it in every single theater over 12 years." 100% of the time? Really? Even you know you can't support this aggrandized statement.
______________________________________ "It sucks for them, I personally know some awesome women in the military, shit-hot...but if they create a distraction, then they need to go." If a man is distracted by serving with a woman, then the man needs to go. We need strong minded personnel, not men that need women to wear burqas to protect their sensitive masculine sensibilities. When a woman can adequately perform in a combat role and a male is distracted by it, the male is the weak link.
____________________________________ "We discriminate all the time against people who truly cannot help their condition based on the fact that it is NOT the military's job to accomodate." Establishing standardized health and performance benchmarks for specific jobs/tasks is not discrimination. You use the term "we discriminate" flippantly, and the term "truly cannot help their condition" ignorantly to justify excluding qualified, able-bodied, willing volunteers that simply want to serve their country. That exclusion is abhorrent to the freedom that our Constitution was written to protect.
